It's been a busy few days, with the release of not my Ruby 1.9 Envycasts but also the PDF version of my new book The Well-Grounded Rubyist. For that, books like The Ruby Way or The Well Grounded Rubyist would be better, though these assume you have a basic grounding in OO first (Beginning Ruby doesn't).
